Adult Day Programs

Adult Day Programs

The adult day programs provide services to individuals with disabilities who are aged 21 and over and require comprehensive support in their daily lives. The centers offer opportunities for social interaction, expanding the skills necessary for independent living and active participation in a rich variety of expressive, recreational, and other everyday activities.

The adult day programs aim to help each individual fulfill their potential according to their preferences with the support of a comprehensive individual plan and necessary adaptations.

As part of the program, service recipients receive individual or group therapies from a staff of health professionals that include physical, occupational and speech therapists, and others. In addition, emotional support is provided by social workers, as well as speech and expressive therapists in art, music, drama, and more.

The adult day programs represent an integral part of the community-at-large and efforts are made to maintain this connection through volunteerism and dedicated partners from other institutions and organizations in the community.

By working together on shared activities that benefit everyone, the adult day programs become an essential part of the surrounding communities.

The different areas of volunteerism include regular activities, e.g. participation in the retirement facilities’ choir, story hour in the kindergarten, or one-time activities such as distribution of New Year’s greeting cards and Purim gift baskets in retirement facilities and hospitals.

Volunteer Activity

Program volunteers include private individuals, college students, National Service volunteers, high school students, organized groups and employee organizations. Activity is adapted to correspond to the volunteer’s requests and program needs.
