Programs for Social Occupational Initiatives

Israel Elwyn’s Social Occupational Initiative Programs provide training and employment for people with disabilities. The programs include a postal distribution house, a microfilming center for computerized document scanning, a laundromat, a division for culinary training and more.

Israel Elwyn aspires to develop additional initiatives to increase employment opportunities in the competitive job market offered to people with disabilities.

Target Population

The program is open to individuals with disabilities aged 21 and over, recognized by the Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs’ Administration for People with Disabilities.

Referring Organizations

The Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs’ Administration for People with Disabilities, Municipal Departments of Social Services, direct requests by service recipient’s parents and via various organizations.

Program Acceptance Procedures

Acceptance into the program is subject to approval by an acceptance committee consisting of the local authority’s Department of Social Services and program staff and in accordance with the service recipient’s inclination.


Sunday through Thursday, between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Volunteer Activity

Program volunteers include private individuals, college students, National Service volunteers, high school students, organized groups and employee organizations. Activity is adapted to correspond to the volunteer’s requests and program needs. Potential volunteers are invited to contact the individual listed below.
