“For a Change”
“For a Change” Program
The “For a Change” program was born out of the belief that youth with disabilities have the ability to contribute to society like any other individual and that they deserve the opportunity to influence their community and to feel a meaningful part of it.
The program, which lasted about five years, was established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs, the Israeli Network for Volunteerism, the Federation of Local Authorities in Israel, and Ashalim – The Israel Joint Committee, and was operated by Israel Elwyn with the support of its partners.
Currently, the Ministry of Education is working towards the implementation of the knowledge acquired during the operation of the program in which we were partners, and in the promotion of attitudes and concepts that will enable the application of these tools. Like the other partners, we will continue to promote the vision of the program in every way possible, including in the youth programs we operate throughout the country.
Zero Project Award
In 2019, “For a Change” received the Essel Foundation’s Zero Project Award. Each year, the Zero Project identifies outstanding programs across the globe for people with disabilities.
